The journalist spent more than a decade covering sports for The Washington Post, including football, tennis, and basketball. Nichols has won two Emmy Awards during her nine-year time working for ESPN and was featured in many of the network's most popular programs like NFL Countdown or SportsCenter, moved to ESPN in 2004. She also worked as a correspondent for Monday Night Football on the network. Then, she switched onto CNN sports and then Turner. Unguarded, a show that she produced and hosted, was telecast every day on CNN International. The show had over a billion viewers around the world. Nichols covered NBA broadcasts on TNT which included the playoffs, regular season and All-Star broadcasts. She also reported for TBS reporting on golf and baseball broadcasts, and Final Four broadcasts on CBS. The only woman to have been picked from over two hundred nominees in the long history of this award.
